The American Business Council in Botswana (ABC) is the link between U.S. and Botswana business. The ABC is the liaison between the U.S. Embassy, businesses in Botswana, and businesses and entities in the United States.
Founded in 1994, the ABC builds and strengthens economic ties between the two countries. This has been achieved through information sessions with funding agencies such as OPIC, networking events with visiting US state agencies, and by connecting specific Botswana and U.S. industries.
Throughout the year we put on events for members. As a member, you have access to and are encouraged to participate in: • Information Sessions from visiting U.S. entities ( ex: Andela, OPIC, US State Departments) • Networking events between other members and the U.S. Embassy in Botswana • Business breakfasts and other receptions hosted by the U.S. Ambassador • Direct business lines between Botswana businesses and U.S. businesses and agencies (usually sector specific) • Selected American Embassy Events In addition to events, the ABC can facilitate links between specific U.S. and Botswana businesses. ABC Membership carries the following annual fees: • Corporate Membership: P1500 Allows any one member of the corporate to avail membership benefits (can vary). An additional fee equivalent to an Individual Membership fee will be charged if a corporate desires additional numbers. Corporate Members will have 1 vote at any meeting. • Professional / Individual Membership: P750 Allows a specific individual to avail themselves of membership benefits. The membership is non-transferable and is specific to the member's name mentioned on the membership form. Individual members will have 1 vote at any meeting.
